Finding your way in a new country is not always easy. Find out all about living in Belgium in the course at Atlas. You will learn about topics such as housing, education, health, work, family or society's values and norms. Together with the teacher, you will look for answers to your questions.

Atlas organises the social orientation course. After the course, you will take a test.

Why is this course of interest to you?

  • You take the course in a language you speak and understand. You can take the course in more than 30 languages (Dutch, English, French, Arabic, Polish, Farsi, Russian, Romanian, Bulgarian, Turkish, Moroccan, Tamazight, Spanish, Portuguese, ...).
  • You will learn about different topics such as housing, education, health, work, family, values and norms.
  • You will learn which services to go to for information.
  • You will talk to Belgians about Belgian society and your own culture.
  • You will strengthen your competences and independence.
  • You will meet new people.
  • The teacher will listen to your questions and those of other students. You will look for answers together.
  • The lessons are part online and part in the classroom. This way, Atlas helps you strengthen your digital competences.

The social orientation course is part of the civic integration programme.

During the programme, you will also take a Dutch language course, get information about work and meet new people. Atlas is happy to help you with more information.
